The project  based on what is known as the glass delusion, in which people feared that they were made of glass and likely to shatter into pieces as a result.
The process involved creating a fictional work based draws on tropes from early medical histories, society and glass as a sonic instrument.
Central to this is a focus on both the sonic and alchemic qualities of glass, which contributed to the development of an opera soundtrack sung by Ms Hilliard.
